Inclusion and Disability focussed projects

Report on the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport

Client: Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communication and Arts

Deliverable:  The report included over 1000 contributions from stakeholder consultation, and considered the efficiency and effectiveness of the Transport Standards, including to what extent discrimination had been removed in the previous 5 years and recommendations about future amendments to the Transport Standards. 

Development of the Access and Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan

Client: Department of Transport and Main Roads

Deliverable:   Development of a three-year Access and Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan for the Department of Transport and Main Roads using codesign methodology which engaged stakeholders with  a diverse range of access needs. 

Welcoming Diversity in the Aged Care Workforce

Client: The Council of the Ageing (CoTA) Queensland

Deliverable:  A literature review to understand what is known about the topic and to help inform questions to be asked in consultations.   Consultations were undertaken with providers, consumers and other key stakeholders to seek views around the research questions. The research identified a series examples of good practice to build on. 

Evaluation of Enabling an Inclusive Aged Care Workforce Program

Client: Multicultural Australia

Deliverable: The program involved establishing a mentorship program for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) jobseekers interested in working in the aged care industry and delivering cultural competency training to staff at selected aged care services. The evaluation investigated how well these processes worked (how much did they do, how well did they do it and who is better off) and provided the opportunity for reflections by participants and other stakeholders to make recommendations to industry on providing more supportive practices for CALD employees (Project and Program Advisory; Engagement and co-design) 

Evaluation of the Interpreter Boost Training Program

Client: Multicultural Association of Qld

Deliverable:  An evaluation of the Interpreter Training Boost program which was established to provide new job opportunities for Queensland interpreters in priority languages and better communication outcomes for multicultural communities.   A report was prepared outlining lessons learnt and recommendations for the ongoing implementation of the program. 

Strengthening Queensland's NDIS Workforce Report

Client: Community Services Industry Alliance and Jobs Queensland

Deliverable:  Preparation of the final of a series of reports examining the state of the NDIS workforce in Queensland, along with the challenges, opportunities and initiatives impacting upon it. The report (https://jobsqueensland.qld.gov.au/projects/strengthening-ndis-workforce/) identifies areas of action for industry stakeholders to continue to support development of the NDIS workforce in Queensland.

Evaluation of All Abilities Jobmatch project

Client: Queensland Disability Network

Deliverable:   The design and implementation of an evaluation of the All Abilities Jobmatch project. The project was funded by the Department of Social Services (DSS) through an NDIS Information, Linkage and Capacity Building (ILC)  grant to improve employment opportunities for people with disability.
